iheart intervention 003

Witzenhausen Gallery | Chelsea, NYC | 2010

Installed in June of 2010, iheart intervention 003 combined painting and photography with the evolving body of magnet paint and text work. The intervention occurred in an exhibition of work by Pedro Bakker and Tania Camille Nasser.

This artwork continued the crossing of wall with canvas, text with image, with Barack Obama as subject, exploring the state of image, identity and intellectual property in the United States.

At the time, a copyright lawsuit was underway around Shepard Fairey's HOPE artwork, while the Deepwater Horizon oil spill stained the Gulf of Mexico.
