NYC and Kyoto | Nomadic | 2019-present
Free is an ongoing project merging free jazz and poetry, with performances and artwork spanning both music and art spaces.
The project was born between [sic] and Patrick Golden, seeking to fluidly merge, also play between free, improvisational jazz and visual poetry. Their first performance occurred within an installation in the _______ Poetics show on Governor's Island in NYC, October 2019.
In November 2019, the two traveled to Japan and collaborated on a performance within The Missing Ones, a band created by Patrick Golden and David Moss. Their performance together in Kyoto was the first time exploring how improvisational jazz and poetry can view, listen and be influenced by each other in realtime.
The Missing Ones recorded an album while in Japan, and [sic] designed the cover based on ideas from the collaboration.
This is an ongoing project in its early stages…
