House of Poetics
NYC | Nomadic | 2019-present
House of Poetics (HOP) is a nomadic creative space for the practice of contemporary poetics. As a hybrid studio, publisher, research lab, and performance space, HOP nurtures and develops an experimental, process-oriented approach to the production of poetic experience.
HOP’s ethos was first tested and explored in an independent, one month project on Governors Island in NYC titled “_______ Poetics”, where artists and poets developed artwork, poetry, installations, performances, and printed matter.
The project acted as a popup studio and happening focused on experiments and research within the practice of contemporary poetics.
Focal points of the work revolved around concepts of mindful poetics, sound poetics, visual and cinematic poetry, body poetics, eco poetics, and mutable text.
The project was curated by [sic], featuring artists, poets and writers including Simona Blat, Miriam Parker, Brian Chase, Charlie Stein, Patrick Meagher, Katie Willingham, Kip Miller, Khaula Malik, and Jai Hamid Bashir, and [sic].
