PRESS RELEASE

Love makes room for everyone. What do you choose? Make America Love Again

NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, April 28, 2026 — Love and compassion lead to tolerance. Tolerance allows for difference. How does it feel to look forward, rather than back? Make America Love Again.

Seth Indigo Carnes, a conceptual artist based in New York City, has relaunched MALA (“Make America Love Again”), with animations and memes aiming to refocus culture and politics in the United States.

“Sometimes a decision comes down to choosing love instead of hate,” Carnes said. “In this moment, it’s that simple: choose love.”

In considering the state of affairs, Carnes noted, “The idea surfaced to create an iconic design that symbolized unity and love, standing in opposition to the divisive, regressive focus of MAGA.”

The resulting artwork inspired Gary Breslin, Executive Creative Director of ODD studio, who offered to donate animation work to make the MALA design move. The first set of animations based on Seth’s storyboards were completed within a week. Then guitarist and composer Gyan Riley soon agreed to compose music for the first set of MALA animations. Gregory Reeves  joined soon after to compose the music for the second.

The set of eight musically scored MALA animations are now released on Giphy as memes, as both GIF files and “clips” that feature the musical score as well. On the first day, every meme received over 5,000 views.

The MALA project invites supporters to join the movement by downloading the campaign’s memes directly from the MALA project page or using them directly via Giphy. A kiosk on Etsy also features limited edition MALA merchandise, where all proceeds go towards amplifying the spread of this meme and concept.

“Love makes room for everyone,” Carnes concludes. “It’s time to make America love again.”
