intervention 006

Installed in December of 2010 at the Witzenhausen Gallery NYC, iheart intervention 006 consisted of a text sculpture of pins made with art fair, auction catalog and art magazine ad hero images.

Galleries use these images to promote not only the artwork but to serve as a representation and crossing of their mission, style, level and brand.

I selected the images, then cropped and cut them per the pin’s circle diameter, pinning them to the gallery wall in a pattern that spelled a lower case “art” and upper case “COMMERCE”.

This intervention occurred in the show titled come to me by Margriet Smulders
